Massachusetts is a shotgun state for deer, a licence state for buying, and a roster state for handguns. This store is arranged around those three facts. The shotgun pages lead with rifled-barrel pumps and semi-autos for the season that opens the Monday after Thanksgiving, and 3-inch waterfowl guns for the coast, the Cape and the islands. Rifles are bolt guns and rimfires for the range and for hunting out of state. Handguns are shown with the reminder that your Massachusetts dealer must find the model on the state roster before it can be transferred.
To buy anything you need a License to Carry or an FID card from your local police licensing authority. You order here, name a licensed Massachusetts dealer, and complete the transfer at their counter. Ammunition also goes to your dealer, not to your door. Magazines are limited to 10 rounds, and the 2024 law tightened the rules on semi-automatic rifles, so read the gun law overview before you order a rifle.
